The pedal placement is absolute garbage (pic off google, so idk if it’s exactly the same as my car.)

Kinja'd!!!

The gas is significantly lower down than the brake and the two pedals are so close together, it’s easy to catch your big toe on the brake pedal when lifting off the gas and moving to the brake. So you have to position your feet kind of weird to make it work, which can get pretty uncomfortable during city driving.

I still like the car overall, it’s basically my only complaint with it apart from the stupid fiber optic radio antenna thingy mcjig.

Huh. I don’t have that trouble with the manual. Driving a stick in the amount of traffic I do with tune I have can be a pain in the ass, but I wouldn’t trade it for an auto. The ability to hold a gear and keep it in the power band is way too much fun.

Chances are they would use the same pedal placement for auto and manual, or only change the width of the brake pedal.

I basically have to wear Vans or Spurrys when I drive my pickup, as the footwell is this big and is cluttered with three pedals. Every had a work boot wedged between your throttle and brake pedal? I wouldn’t recommend it!

My NA Miata is the only car I’ve ever driven with perfectly spaced pedals. Even the myriad of Porsche’s I’ve driven (everything from a 2.7 Cayman to a GT3) have had a gas pedal that wasn’t quite high enough.

And every sports car should come standard with a pedal extender kit so heel toe is even remotely possible for smaller guys like me.

Exactly, if it was a manual I’d have to deal with this as well as a clutch. So I’m glad it’s an auto.

ikr? I can’t imagine trying to heel toe if this thing was a manual.

I’m not sure why adding a clutch would be any more difficult if the clutch and the brake are the problem.

Man, I cannot disagree more vehemently. I absolutely abhor the pedals in my NA and have been delighted with the pedals in the 911s I’ve been test driving recently. I have large feet and can almost fit my full foot between the Miata’s gas and brake!
